Elbert Called Up
Left-handed pitcher Scott Elbert was in the Dodgers clubhouse at Coors Field Friday and will be activated, but the club has not confirmed the move or announced a corresponding roster move. Elbert was a late scratch from his scheduled Friday night start for Triple-A Albuquerque, where he was 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA. But he has allowed only four earned runs in his last 16 1/3 innings. Elbert was a candidate to win the fifth-starter job in Spring Training, but pitched poorly and was sent out in mid-March. Left-handers are hitting only .229 against Elbert, while right-handers are hitting .301.
