Dodgers Acquire Podsednik
The Dodgers made a deal Wednesday and not for a pitcher, acquiring former All-Star outfielder Scott Podsednik from the Kansas City Royals for two Minor Leaguers, catcher Lucas May and pitcher Elisaul Pimental, according to baseball sources. – Ken Gurnick
Dodgers Work Out in Heat
Four hours before Thursday night’s game with the Cardinals, the Dodgers completed a mandatory team workout at Busch Stadium held with a downtown temperature of 93 degrees and a heat index of 105. Among those working out was reliever George Sherrill, who reportedly was placed on outright waivers this week but remains on the active roster. — Ken Gurnick
