Elbert Scratched From Albuquerque Start
Left-hander Scott Elbert, scheduled to start for Albuquerque Wednesday night, was scratched. Indications are that he will be recalled on Thursda, after spending the required 10 days in the Minor Leagues following his optioning on July 20. — Ken Gurnick
He cant be recalled unless he is replacing a injured player or spends 10 days in the minors. My guess is trade. AOL’s Ed Price says no Sherrill, so Halladay
According to the LA Times, “Left-hander Scott Elbert was a last-minute scratch from his scheduled start for triple-A Albuquerque. He wasn’t pulled for trade purposes, said Colletti, who wouldn’t elaborate further. If Elbert is called up to the majors today, it probably would be to take the place of struggling rookie left-hander Brent Leach. . . .”
Tomorrow will be 10 days since they sent him down. My guess is he is being recalled.
elbert was sent down on the 22nd. tomorrow is only 8 days. so unless he’s replacing an injured player (leach?), he can’t be recalled.

my bad then. i didn’t look there. i happened to be on rotoworld and they had him sent down on the 22nd… http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=4033
don’t worry bout it. i do hope its a trade though.
The move being for a trade was ruled out by Colletti himself…
The Blue Jays have already told the Dodgers that they can get Halladay without touching their 25-man roster — meaning Billz and Kershaw stay put. Of course all it will take is 5-6 prospects.
I’m usually not high on dealing away a plethora of prospects, but I’ll make an acception for Halladay, who gives us a shot at a title for the next two seasons.
Blue Jays get: DeJesus, J.Bell, Elbert, Lindblom, Lambo and DeWitt.
Dodgers get: Halladay
Yes, our farm system takes a big hit, but we still have some good prospects left in E.Martin, D.Gordon, Withrow, Paul.
