Today’s Roster Moves

The Dodgers Friday activated Manny Ramirez from the suspended list, activated pitcher Claudio Vargas from the 60-day disabled list (elbow) and transfered reliever Hong-Chih Kuo (elbow) from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list so he won’t count against the 40-man roster. The Dodgers now have 13 pitchers again, even though they will have two days off in five days. — Ken Gurnick

Bringing back Dewitt was a good move as the Dodger pinch hitters are a sad group of players….no sock. Try to trade Mota. He’s not the same player he was a few years ago.
What is the status of Mientkowicz? I see him in the dugout but his name is never mentioned nor is his status.

I’m not a baseball manager but I do know enough about baseball NOT to put the potential tieing run on 1st base and face the potential winning run at the plate as Joe Torre did yesterday.Ok,the strategy worked…..this time, and even tho San Diego had no position players left the result could have been quite different.I just dont understand Joe Torre’s baseball philosophy. I wish the Dodgers still had the type of manager that Tommy Lasorda was. He was the type of manager that Joe Torre will never be.
