Kuroda Tosses Again
Opening Day starter Hiroki Kuroda played catch in the outfield with trainer Stan Conte Tuesday for the second consecutive day, a modestly positive sign for the pitcher who has been disabled for a month with a strained oblique muscle. That said, Kuorda still isn’t throwing hard nor has he taken a mound, which will be followed by bullpen sessions, live batting practice and a Minor League rehab assignment. In other words, a late-May return is probably a best-case scenario. — Ken Gurnick
